Assigning a Security Exception You can also allow a blocked app by clicking on Open Anyway in the Privacy and Security settings of your Mac. This button is available for about an hour after a failed attempt to open the app. Changing Security Settings
1. Accessing Settings:
Go to the Apple menu () in the top left corner of your screen.
Choose System Settings.

Click on Privacy and Security in the sidebar.
Go to the Security section, which might be lower down on the list.
